Scholarships for the 2017-2018 school year are available. Applications must be complete by 11:59 p.m. on March 31, 2017. More than $10,000 is available for deserving college students from the San Antonio area and surrounding cities in the South Texas region. Tarleton State University Hosting Region 8 Conference

Get Registered Get Your Hotel Get Directions on Google Maps Hosted at This year’s SPJ Region 8 Conference begins 5:00 p.m. on March 24 with a full schedule on March 25 in Stephenville, Texas, at beautiful Tarleton State University. Registration deadline is March 17. SPJ Region 8 Conference event staff at Tarleton State University offer online and paper registration. For online registration, use the registration button on this page. If you prefer sending a check, you can mail a check to P.O. Box T-0230, Stephenville, TX 76402. Checks should be made out to “Tarleton SPJ Chapter.” This year’s registration fee is $40. Once your payment is received, event staff will email you more information. Registration will be open at the event, but we recommend registering prior. Scholarship applications come soon to this website. Members of the San Antonio pro chapter raised approximately $15,000 to provide scholarships for deserving journalism students this year. With a common sense of purpose and fun, members are happy to give their earnings away.
